eBay and How to Tell If Your Product Is Valuable or Worthless Junk

Auction XFactor- How To Sell On eBay ). http://www. auctionxfactor. php.

When is a book not a book? When it's autographed, for example, or in pristine condition despite being centuries old, and other factors that make it stand out from the crowd.

These are a few of many reasons an item - not just books by the way - may be worth nothing and another virtually priceless:

* Is it dated? Dated items are usually provenance proved, not subject to guesswork. But, consider: is it original or a reproduction or reprint? Be careful, if it's dated, give the date, but don't testify to age. For example, a book dated 1900 may indeed have been printed that year, and be 105 years old, or it could be a modern reprint. If you're unsure you could say: ‘Dated 1900, in good condition', but not ‘Dated 1900. A wonderful example at 105 years old'. Play it safe and on all your listings add: ‘All items described to the best of our knowledge and ability'. A satisfaction or money back guarantee also protects you against problems of innocently mis-describing items.

* Is there a signature? Did this otherwise ordinary item have a famous owner to increase its value? Is the signature genuine? Or a forgery? Is the signature original or printed into the book? If the signature is original, is it the hand of the famous person or an agent charged with signing on their behalf?

* Is it in good condition? Do you understand what ‘good condition' means for this particular item? Many collectibles, such as books, postcards, stamps, have industry recognised grading standards to which you should also conform. For example, unused collectors' stamps with hinge marks, are not mint, but can be described as unused or mounted, and other recognised descriptions.

Auction Watcher - EBay(R) Auction Software. No 1. EBay(R) Auction Watcher Is An Instant Insight Into EBay(R)'s Top Keywords, Hot Items And Auctions.

* Is it rare? Or is it something quite common but new to you? What does rare really mean? Unless you are sure, describe it as ‘unusual' or ‘uncommon', not rare.

* It is antique? So many things described as antique are simply old, less than one hundred years to which the word antique really applies. So say ‘old' or ‘vintage', not ‘antique', unless you're sure of that 100 year rule.

Tip! Decide whether the eBay business will be based on volume or price.

* Was the item designed for heavy use, such as pots and pans, coins and banknotes, and unlikely to survive the decades intact? Was the item ephemeral, of limited shelf life, such as theatre tickets, newspapers, and typically used or given away in hours or days? If the item has survived decades, intact, it could be valuable, maybe very valuable.

Prospecting On EBay(R. Generate Leads For Your Products And Services On The Worlds 8th Most Visited Website.

* Does the item have ‘double appeal'? Might it attract bids from two or more different eBay categories and consequently multiple bids, such as a book on a popular theme, but a collectible author, with a famous previous owner. A plate I bought at the auction of Dame Catherine Cookson's effects presented four collecting themes: as a plate in its own right (very popular collecting area), famous owner (well-known novelist), Ringtons design (advertising), area of manufacture (Newcastle-on-Tyne). Oh yes, it was also blue and white, another major collecting interest.

* Is the price too low for comfort? Is it a fake or reproduction? Broken? Even worse, stolen? Check items thoroughly, ask for proof of previous ownership, buy from reputable sellers only, avoid itinerant sellers at flea markets and boot sales unless they provide receipts and contact details. Most boot sale and flea market sellers are very genuine and a majority of organisers now provide written details of traders at the event. Stolen items belong to their original owner, not the innocent buyer.

eBay - The New Revolution

Tip! If you want a steady income on Ebay you need to find suppliers. The best way to do this is to determine what type of product you want to sell, and then start researching what that item is selling for on auction sites.

I am probably a bit slow on the uptake of this but it is something that really hadn't interested me until not too long ago when I started to hear things about that some people are going to ask me some advice on how to use eBay to their advantage. I'm not just talking about the average Joe that wants to have an auction I'm talking about someone who wants to make money out of it, just like a normal online store.

So it wasn't until today that I set out to discover if eBay could really be more then just an auction site.

I had a few theory's that I had come up with about eBay a before I set out to find out what was on offer.

1. If you were to make any kind of money you would want to have a store which had a permanent address. 2. You would need some kind of product that consumers would want to buy online.

So what did I learn, well quite simply I was correct there is such thing as an eBay store. From my knowledge of online marketing this would have to be the best way to get ahead from everyone else on ebay.

Tip! You need to take possession of the items. When you sell items on consignment you risk your eBay name and reputation.

This way you would have more chance of repeat customers and you could use your URL to advertise outside eBay itself. This is the ultimate option for anyone considering eBay as a means of making money online.

From what I can tell while looking around it is not just physical products sold on eBay. Closer to my home, web design, there are a few people offering their webdesign services over ebay.

I am not sure how successful that is but I have decided that I will give it ago. That is really the only way to find out how it is going to work isn't it. So tomorrow I will start and auction to see where it leads me.

Tip! People that buy on ebay are looking for a bargain, the trouble is they think that Ebay is the best place to look.

So is eBay the new revolution in online selling? Well if you think about it the amount of people that seem to use it could only mean that it has to work.

10 Safety Tips For Buying On eBay

Make Money With EBay(R. Learn The EBay(R) To Riches EBay(R) Money Pays 65% Make Money Online.

eBay has become a household name for shoppers. A lot the buyers on eBay are not regular internet shoppers but they still shop on eBay. Such is the power of eBay giving simplicity of shopping and top bargains. From time to time, there is some fraud on eBay about fake fashion items, event tickets that do not exist, some expensive electronic items that do not exist.

eBay does its best to intervene and resolve such disputes. As a shopper, you can follow these 10 safety tips to avoid being conned.

1. Check the seller's feedback. Positive feedback rating of over 95% is good. If there are many recent negative feedbacks, then this is not a good indication. Also, read all the negative feedbacks. Are these negative feedbacks reasonable? What type of response does the seller have for these feedbacks? Does the seller's defense sound reasonable? Sometimes new members who buy items on eBay are paranoid and they leave a negative feedback in a haste so make sure if the seller has defended himself/ herself in a reasonable manner. If there are too many complaints of the same nature, then it is probably true.

2. The sellers must have some kind of identification or recognition seal like Paypal verified, or Square trade or a Powerseller seal on the auctions. Such sellers are more reliable. This is especially a good check when you buying an expensive item.

3. Ask seller a question before bidding on the item. Responsible sellers reply promptly to questions. Also, if the seller actually has the item, he/ she maybe able to answer a valid question otherwise not.

4. If you are buying something expensive, then get the contact information of the seller at http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9. You have to login to your eBay account and send a request. You can get the seller's address and phone number. In doing this, your address and phone number will also be emailed to the seller.

Tip! The items must have pictures unless it is a service that is sold on eBay. If there is no picture, then the items is probably not there.

5. The items must have pictures unless it is a service that is sold on eBay. If there is no picture, then the items is probably not there. Almost all sellers will put at least one picture of the item. Let's assume that the item is there but the seller has been lazy in not putting the picture in the auction ad. Would you like to deal with someone who is so careless? It just shows that the item may not be in good condition, maybe defective or broken.

Tip! List your item in the most appropriate category. Many buyer's only search eBay by looking at listings within categories.

6. Check description of the item. Research other websites for the same item. Some of the shopping websites to research would be shopping.yahoo.com, overture.com and shopping.msn.com. These sites are adequate for researching items and get the description that you need. The eBay description should match item description on other sites.

7. Research prices for the item on sale. If the item on sale is Gucci handbags, then search for this model of handbag on shopping.yahoo.com. If it retails for $800 on Yahoo and seller on eBay is selling a brand new one for $90, then this item may not be authentic! Large wholesaler are able to sell items for around 50% of retail but something like an original Gucci handbag, it is unlikely that a seller would let go for $90 because these items sell like crazy. Just a note on fraud items - a lot of fraud eBay occurs on fashion items. This is very unfortunate and eBay has taken a lot of steps to eliminate fraud.

8. If the seller has not mentioned any shipping and handling terms, then ask before bidding. There are many auction ads, where the seller mentions that shipping and handling will mentioned to the winning bidder. Surprisingly, there are bids on that item! If you start bidding on the item, then it means that you agreed to the terms and condition of the sellers and there is less room for you to dispute later so ask for the clear instruction on shipping and handling.

The Dirty Secret Hiding On Ebay Ebook Reveals Why You Should NOT Invest In Ebay Money Making Schemes And How To Protect Yourself Against Them.

9. Reliable sellers have clear description on their refund policy. If it is not there, then ask the seller for it. If the seller has no refund policy, then do not bid on the item. If the there is no refund policy in the auction description, then make sure you get the refund policy in an email from the seller. In this way, you have a document of the refund policy.

10. Do a search for the sellers past items on eBay. Check to see if the seller has sold similar items in the past. To search on the past auctions, go to the Advanced Search page. Here click on the items by seller link and type in the sellers ID and check the box for Include Completed listing. It is always good to check this especially if you are considering buying something expensive.

Tip! The majority of buyers on eBay prefer to pay for their purchase via PayPal. That is why it is vital for you to accept this method of payment.

Don't Let Negative Feedback On Ebay Get You Down

AuctionYen - Find What EBay(R) Buyers Want. Unique EBay(R) Research Software, Highest EBay(R) Converting Software. , Very Low Refunds.

Remember the student in school who complained (or even cried) because they only got a ninety-nine percent mark on an assignment or test. Meanwhile, some of us were relieved (if not ecstatic) to have merely passed.

I actually witnessed one case where the math student insisted that he was not wrong. On rechecking the test, the teacher realized the answer sheet was wrong and not the student. The student got one hundred percent correct.

Realistically, however, most of us lesser mortals can't expect to get a perfect mark or score every time.

First of all, none of us are perfect. We all make mistakes.

Secondly, unlike math, some subjects are more subjective in nature. In certain subjects, the answer to a question may not be simply right or wrong. The teacher may have more latitude in how your grades are calculated. The teacher may even (consciously or subconsciously) increase or decrease your grade based on whether they like you (or your attitude) or not.

Similarly, in business, you can't please everybody all of the time.

In eBay or other Internet auctions, you will not be able to satisfy everyone. Even if you have one hundred percent positive feedback on eBay now, eventually it must fall.

Tip! Do a search for the sellers past items on eBay. Check to see if the seller has sold similar items in the past.

Not all of your customers will be happy with you all of the time. You might make a mistake resulting in an unhappy customer. Sometimes factors beyond your control (such as a lost shipment) may result in a negative feedback.

Occasionally, you might even get a customer who is unreasonable. If he leaves you negative feedback, sometimes all you can do is leave a negative feedback in return. This is not so much as an act of retaliation; it is more a matter of presenting your side of the story.

ProfitCalc - #1 Auction Tool For EBay(R. Sell On EBay(R) Or Your Web Site ~We Show You How~ Software Sells Itself.

Sometimes, a customer has a legitimate complaint. Other times the customer has jumped the gun and hasn't given you a fair chance to resolve matters. It is even possible that your customer is a sadist who takes delight in tormenting others.

Regardless, you can make the offer to mutually agree to withdraw negative feedback from each other.

If you both agree and follow eBay's procedure, the negative feedback will be removed from both of your total scores (thus improving both feedback ratings). The negative comments themselves won't be removed by eBay but neither will your response to defend yourself.

The Easy and Simple Guide to Making Profits by Selling Ebooks on eBay An easy to use guide for anyone who wants to start a home business on eBay or their own site by selling information products.

Even if this tactic to remove negative feedback is not successful, at least you tried. Don't let your pride stand in the way of trying to make peace with the customer and reversing any negative feedback.

If the customer won't agree, at least you've told your side of the story. Let your prospective customers decide if they want to do business with you or not.

Tip! Decide whether the eBay business will be based on volume or price.

I personally like it when I see an eBay seller with a perfect feedback rating. Realistically, however, I realize that you simply can't please everyone. Even if you did everything perfectly, there are still people who are just not reasonable.

Thus, even if a seller has some negative feedback, if the overwwhelming majority are pleased with him, I tend to discount the few dissidents. I suggest you do the same in evaluating others as well as yourself.

How To Play The Bidding Game On EBay

Build Your eBay eBook Empire eBay eBook Powerseller Reveals Googles No. 1 eBay Powerseller Automated eBook Business Guide. Visit http://www. ezsellebooks. htm.

Bidding is the act of making an offer for an item that is up for auction. Bidding on eBay however is slightly different, and does not work in exactly the same way as normal auctions, at least in theory. Bidding on eBay is meant to be fun, but remember that all bids on eBay are binding, except in the sales of real estate or businesses and the sales of items that are prohibited by law or by eBay's user agreement.

On eBay, you enter the maximum amount for the item you are willing to pay, and then eBay's bidding system bids for the items on your behalf. Meaning supposing you are willing to pay $100.00 for an item, you can end up paying only $30.00 for the item, if that was the highest maximum bid anyone else placed.

Bidding on eBay can be very addictive, so its a good idea to have a pre - determined amount you are willing to spend for an item and not exceed it regardless of loosing out on the auction. A good strategy here is to use eBay's proxy bidding system to automatically bid on your behalf. This means you don't have to keep coming back to re-bid every time someone places a higher bid.

An Example of how eBay's Proxy Bidding Process Works

* Search for an item you want to bid on.

* You determine how much you are willing to pay for it, in this example $30.00.

Tip! After spending time doing the legwork, you'll find that a few eBay sellers seem to be ideal to buy from. Add them to your favorite seller's list.

* The current minimum bid on the item is $18.00.

* Enter your maximum bid of $30.00.

* If there are no other bids on the item, eBay's proxy server will bid for the item at the minimum of $18.00.

* If someone bids $22.00 for the item, eBay's proxy server will automatically increase your bid to $23.00, which is what it is currently bidding for plus the minimum increment.

* EBay then emails the other bidder to inform them that they have been outbid.

* If there is another bidder with a higher maximum, you will obviously be outbid. But if no other bidder has a higher maximum, you win the auction, and the item is yours and this saves you the time and effort of having to sit around to bid again anytime you are outbid.

And because the proxy bidding system bids using your pre - determined maximum amount, there is no tendency for you to overbid, which significantly saves you some money. Of course you will not always win if someone bids a higher maximum value, but then it will not make you over spend, and because it's eBay you can always come back again and bid on a similar item from a different seller.

Track Down "Hidden" Products for Resale on eBay

Make Loads Of Cash On EBay(R)- Quick & Easy. Finally. A Simple New Way To Make Money On EBay(R.

When you're trying to come up with products to sell on eBay it seems you have the same sources available to you that everyone else does (yawn). Those include yard sales, flea markets, closeouts, wholesale lots, and dropshippers. Estate sales may be another. As you can imagine, as the number of eBay sellers grows, the competition for products to resell grows. What if there was some other product source that most people were ignoring? Maybe there is.

The way to track down these hidden products is through research. Wait! Before you click away, hear me out. When was the last time you used the Internet for research? Thought so, probably just a little while ago. Now when was the last time you consulted a FREE professional researcher, available in person, or through email, who knows important tips for Internet searching , and who has access to databases that you don't? I'm talking about your local reference librarian, of course, as well as your local business librarian. People who you pay with your tax dollars, and who are more than happy to help in any way they can. (Deb, my wife and coauthor is a librarian, but I liked librarians before I even met Deb).

As the Internet has grown believe it or not the need for information professionals has increased. With so much information available, of varying quality, people need help getting to the good stuff fast. Also, even though you may think all the world's knowledge is on the Internet, that's far from the case. Many periodicals and other businesss sources are aavailable only through expensive databases, or in hard copy form. Your librarian has access to these sources--you probably don't.

Now that you know about this secret helper, how can she help you source products? As we discuss in our books eBay PowerSeller Secrets and eBay PowerSeller Million Dollar Ideas, local manufacturers can be a great source of products for resale. You can approach them directly, or through trade shows. Your reference librarian can be a tremendous help in locating these (both the manufacturers and trade shows). Another way to source products is to create your own. No, just ebooks, but actual products. One of our favorite PowerSellers, Kevin Boyd of preferreddiscounts, did just that with his clever pipe guardian and cigar caddies for pipe and cigar smokers on the go. Your librarian can help you assess the market for your own product brainstorms, and point you to specialized publications for idea generating.

Tip! Join Paypal. If you have not already, it is a 'MUST' to sign up with a paypal account in order to sell on Ebay.

Kevin's complete story, as well as other extraordinary sourcing ideas, are in our latest book eBay PowerSeller Million Dollar Ideas, which McGraw-Hill will publish this Fall.

Happy, and successful sourcing to you all!

Selling Your Car Successfully On eBay

Tip! Determine the direction of his eBay business.

eBay (UK) now sells more cars than Autotrader. If your not based in the UK, Autotrader is a dedicated weekly magazine which contains thousands of classified vehicle adverts each with a colour photo & detailed description.

Despite the massive success eBay have achieved with vehicle sales it's a fact to say a large percentage go unsold, as they do not attract enough attention, do not reach there reserve price or the sale falls though for an unknown reason.

So, if your considering selling a car though eBay what can increase your chances of a successful sale. As a car is a massive purchase for most users it's absolutely essential to include two elements to your item description.

Lets start with the description. Your item description should everything about the car including any known faults, scratches or marks. Is there anything in the car that should be working but doesn't? Any warning lights being displayed on the dashboard?

Don't think that because you've got use to a minor problem, the next owner will think it's acceptable. This attitude could cost you a sale. I've known someone recently, win a car on eBay - when they turned up it had no radio fitted so the winning bidder walked away from the deal.

Ebay, Cell Phone Tools, assorted books Bluetooth Cell Phone Tools, books on how to win auctions on ebay & catch LIARS in the act & MUCH MORE.

The listing did not even specify the car had a radio fitted, but in reality we assume that almost 100% of cars have some kind of radio fitted. With the seller not specifying the lack of radio, the winning bidder felt he'd been lied to.

What's the mileage on the car? & is it still being used while until it is sold. If it is, then specify this in the listing as the mileage may be slightly higher when someone comes to view it.

Make Money With EBay(R. Learn The EBay(R) To Riches EBay(R) Money Pays 65% Make Money Online.

Equally important are photos of the interior, exterior, & engine Bay. Don't be shy to use photos and don't limit it to just one or two - take photographs from every side of the car.

It is simply not worth listing your car without photographing it. If you do not have a digital camera, then try to borrow one from a friend or a colleague.

Best Selling & Book Values On EBay(R. How To Start Your Own EBay(R) Business Selling Childrens Books Make Great Money Online.

In a rare exception, when selling a car on eBay I strongly recommend using the Featured Plus option. This option will place your car at the top of the relevant category. I'm still testing many aspects of Featured Plus, though out eBay categories but my own sales in this area have increased bidding by upto 21% - well worth the upgraded listing fee of £9.95.

"We don't sell many cars on eBay, it's more of a platform we use to advertise cars and then conclude the sale away from eBay", an unnamed eBay powerseller tells me. eBay generally frown upon this practice as they lose revenue through final sales fees.

However, a car is a purchase that most users will view before bidding so a bigger opportunity exists to conclude the deal away from eBay, saving yourself money and time.

Tip! Systemize your eBay selling. Using a system to sell on eBay will lower the amount of time spent selling each item, and insure you don't forget any important activities.

Finally, be sure to include a phone number in your listing, allowing interested parties the opportunity to contact you for a quick, easy sale.
